THE MEMBERS DRAW HAS JACKPOTTED TO $2350!

Monday, January 22, 2018 - 9:28 AM

The Friday night Member's Draw has jackpotted to $2,350 but you must be there to collect it.

On Friday night, January 19th, Bill Kerns’ name was drawn out but he wasn’t in attendance to collect the jackpot of $2,300, so the draw has now jackpotted to $2,350.

The draw takes place every Friday night between 6:30pm and 7:30pm in the main bar.

You have to be in it to win it! Only those members who are financial for 2017 go into the draw and have the opportunity of taking out the jackpot – but of course you must be there for the draw.

Due to it being Australia Day on Friday the bar will be closed and therefore no Members Night. 9 Seeds will return on Friday, February 2nd with their delicious menu while The Left Bank staff take care of you at the bar.

Colts Coaching Staff

Friday, January 19, 2018 - 8:34 PM

Last year, following 12 months of review, the West Australian Football Commission (WAFC) finalised its Strategic Plan on WA footy. To ensure the sustainability of grassroots footy, several significant changes have been made across the 9 WAFL Clubs in the past 6 months. Most importantly, the WAFC has assumed responsibility for the Talent Pathway of each club from 13’s-16’s and the Colts. Under this model, Mark Pashby has been appointed Talent Manager and Jacob Brennan takes the reigns as Colts Coach.

It’s important to note that there are no visible changes to our development programs. Rather, they offer more resources and financial support to our pathways.

The new season has brought with it several changes to the Colts coaching ranks. Check out who has returned and the not so-new faces to the footy club.

Jacob Brennan: Having spent the past two years as an assistant coach for the league side, Jacob steps into the role of head Colts coach for 2018. An experienced footballer, he has learnt from some of the best at West Coast and East Fremantle.

Adrian Ricciardello- former Shark, ‘Ricca’ returns for his second year in a coaching position with the colts. Given his success with the forwards in their premiership winning season, he will be hoping for another great year.

Paul Hansen- Paul is also back for his second year, fulfilling the role as bench coach. A school Principal by trade, his teaching skills will go a long way in assisting not only the players, but the coaching group too.

Andrew Stephen- East Fremantle’s favourite son returns in a coaching capacity for 2018. The newly retired, previous Lynn medallist has taken to his new role as midfield coach very well. His strong communication and teaching experience are a great asset.

Jake Perer – is also new to the coaching ranks. Jake was an outstanding junior player who made his way to East Fremantle. Unfortunately, his football career was cut short through injury. Another teacher, Jake’s effective communication and sound knowledge of the game add another dimension to the group.

Neil Mildenhall- Sandover Medallist and Fremantle Docker, Neil will fulfil a mentoring role for the young coaching group.

16s

Larry Cavallo- takes the job of the 16’s coach for 2018. A level 3 high performance accredited coach, Larry is a huge asset to the Sharks development program. Having spent time in a coaching capacity at WAFL league level and the State 16’s, he has a great knowledge of the game. Larry runs a very thorough program that is sure to benefit our up and coming players.

Mark Pashby- Under the restructure of WA footy, Mark has taken over the position of Talent Manager for EFFC overseeing the development programs and the colts. Having spent the past 3 years as the head coach for our Development League, Mark has over 20 years of experience, from junior through to state and senior football.  Mark’s wealth of experience is huge asset to the Sharks.

2018 Senior Coaching Staff

Monday, January 15, 2018 - 12:32 PM

With the excitement around our new playing recruits we haven’t had a chance to acknowledge the new and returning coaching staff. Take a look below to see who’s on board for season 2018. Tune in next week when we give you the run down on the Colts coaching group.

Rob Wiley:  Rob returns for his third year at the helm of the Sharks.  After injury ravaged the senior list in 2017, Wiley will be hoping the high performance and medical teams can keep a healthy list on the park. The club’s recruitment as well as the transition of several talented colts into the 2018 program is exciting Wiley for a promising season.

Bradd Dalziell: returns for his third season. Dalziell has continued to develop as the midfield coach and will no doubt be looking forward to working with a deep midfield group this season.

Lindsay Dick: after looking after and learning the midfield craft for the past two seasons at development league level, Lindsay has been promoted to a league coaching role.

Shane Thompson: new to the Sharks’ coaching ranks in 2018, Shane has been coaching in his own right at Bull Creek Leeming AFC and more recently at Mount Barker in the Great Southern League.

Jonathon Griffin: Griff, not only brings a wealth of experience to the Sharks as a player, but will work with Bradd, specialising in mentoring and coaching the Sharks’ tall brigade.

Kyle Martin: Kyle takes over from Mark Pashby as the head coach of the development league in season 2018.  Kyle, who played league WAFL football during the mid-2000’s, has coached Willetton Amateur Football Club over the past two seasons.

Daniel Richards: Daniel has been a massive contributor to the Shark’s Talent Academy in recent seasons and is now keen to further his development as a coach by working within the senior coaching ranks.  He will continue to work in the Academy as well.

John Watters: an educator by trade, John’s excellent communication and leadership will be a huge asset for the football department.  John has coached at various levels, most recently in Northam where he lived for 10 years.

Brenton Miller: Brenton comes to the club after coaching as Kyle’s understudy at Willetton, taking the Reserves side to the 2017 Grand Final.

Matt Riley: Matt joins the Sharks as the High Performance Coach, taking the reins from Ashley Cripps.  Matt has a strong association with East Fremantle, hailing from the Midwest, before completing his degree at Notre Dame.  Matt has previously managed the colts program and runs a successful gym (where a number of current players attend).

Fletcher signs with Sharks

Friday, December 22, 2017 - 12:47 PM

Sean Fletcher is the latest youngster to be joining the Sharks in 2018.

Originally from Midvale Junior Football Club, Fletcher made his way through Swan District’s development program, managing three leagues games for the Black & Whites.

The strongly built 22-year-old is a dangerous forward and proven goal kicker, who will compliment and add depth to the Sharks in 2018.

Fletcher spent the past year playing for Kalamunda in the A Grade Amateurs and after a fantastic season, finished equal second in the competitions best and fairest.

During his three years in the colts, Fletcher was a part of the 2014 Grand Final winning team where he kicked two goals. He has also represented WA in the State 18s.
