Wednesday, December 5, 2018 - 2:35 PM

The East Fremantle Football Club are excited to announce our 2019 Development Coaching staff.

The Head of Development role has been filled by Larry Cavallo. Larry has over 14 years’ experience across all levels of WA Football. As a Senior Assistant he was a part of successful campaigns at Claremont in 2011 and 2012 before taking control of the Midfield for Jarrad Schofield at Subiaco. After the 2014 Premiership with Subiaco, Larry then found himself in charge of the East Fremantle 16s program and well as an Assistant at Colts level.

Rounding out the Development Coaches for 2019 are Brenton Miller, Louis Cronan and Jonathon Griffin.

Football Manager Operations Manager, Brad Dodd said Larry was an excellent appointment for the club.

“We saw a need to invest more in our Development program at Senior level, but it was really important we got the right person for the role,” Dodd said.

“Our Development team all have various levels of experiences as players and coaches that compliment each other. We feel, under the guidance of Bill Monaghan and Larry Cavallo, we have a coaching group that will oversee strong improvement in our group."

The East Fremantle Football Club is pleased to announce the return of some exciting former Sharks and the signing of a promising youngster.

Tom Bennett returns after spending the 2018 away with work. Bennett had an excellent debut season for the Sharks in 2017, playing 16 league games and averaging 18 touches- an effort that earned himself Best First Year player. He can play through the Midfield, either Inside or Outside, as well across half back.

Kyle Baskerville was a highly rated Junior that was cut down with injuries through his Colts years at Shark Park. A hard-running winger, Baskerville took time away from the WAFL, playing a full season with Rockingham in the Peel Football League (PFL) this year. Looking to establish himself at League level, Kyle will be a player to watch in the 2019 season.

2016 Henry Jeffery Medallist (Reserves Best & Fairest) Jesse Adamini, had a strong start in 2017 but battled through the season with injury. Adamini registered 16 games for the Sharks over 2016 and 2017 season, showing plenty of promise through the midfield. After having this season off to travel, Jesse returns to Shark Park determined to pick up where he left off.

Kyle Havelberg joins the club from Peel Thunder. Kyle is a tough Inside Mid who was a member of the 2017 Colts Team of the Year. Kyle spent the 2018 season at Rockingham in the PFL. Yet to make his League debut, Kyle will be looking to impress throughout Pre-Season.

Andrew Stokes, who registered 13 league games for the Sharks is an athletic defender with a penetrating kick that can play ruck and forward.

Born and raised in East Fremantle in a passionate Sharks family, now living in Melville with my family.  During my youth I played in the East Fremantle district, including the EFFC under 17’s development squad, my brother also played at EFFC during the early 80’s.  My father Ron Jones was on the EFFC board as a Director and then Vice President.

Recently I completed a three (3) year term on the Management Committee at the Swan Yacht Club, with the portfolio of governance that strengthen the club culture.  Including managing a $5.8 million club facilities renovation whilst on the SYC Building Committee.

With over 30 years business experience including; Chief Executive of the Institute of Building Technology Western Australia, Building Studies lecturer, registered builder and senior project manager of commercial and residential developments.  I would voice a strong EFFC viewpoint to the Town Council on the impending ground development and strengthen club governance.  My qualifications include:  Dip Bldg; Dip Mngment, Dip Builders Reg (WA), Dip Inst. Dsgn, Grad Dip Mngment (Learning).

It’s important we develop a performance culture to help get the mighty Sharks “back on track”, ensuring that there is a culture of teamwork and co-operation.  These are important to the present and future of our great Club.

Given the opportunity, I would bring great passion, along with a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Board of the East Fremantle Football Club.

I seek your support during this important election.

Nominated by:  Kim Chatfield       Seconded by:  Mark Stewart

Steve Miguel joined the Board of Directors in 2011.  Steve is a Life Member of the East Fremantle Football Club and a long time servant to our great game in the East Fremantle District.

Steve was formerly the East Fremantle Junior Football Club Competition Director and has been involved in junior football in some capacity in our district in excess of 30 years.

“After spending the last 3 years in a support role to the East Fremantle Football Club (EFFC) Board it is now time to add to the stability of the current structure and be elected as a Director of the great EFFC.

As a Past Player and lifelong supporter, I am now in a position to offer my time to the EFFC having recently sold a start-up Business that I was instrumental in founding back in 1991.The experience from this, my playing career, some coaching roles and having been a Director on the West Coast Eagles FC Board gives me the necessary skills to advise on subjects both on and off the field.

As we are aware, WAFL Clubs face many challenges and East Fremantle are certainly not exempt to many of these, whether we are talking on field performance or the financial struggle that continues off-field.

With your support I look forward to helping the Club so many more young footballers can graduate through the ranks and wear the Blue & White Jumper with Pride as I did in the past.”

Nominated by:     Len Hitchen   Seconded by:  Stephen Waller

As a 3 times Premiership player with the Sharks, it saddens me deeply to see this proud and great club in its current situation.  I want to do something about, and I want your support by voting me onto the Board.

I am a passionate and hard working individual, and will not rest until the “tide turns” and we return our club to its rightful position as one of the most respected, and feared WAFL clubs.

A business broker, I am the General Manager of Southern Cross Broker Network, who offer a wide range of financial services, including home and investment loans, commercial loans, and other financial services.

Through this lifestyle, I have learnt the importance of basic things like culture, respect, and organisational structures that make a successful business stand out from the rest.

Many of these practices can be applied to the Board Structure of EFFC, and I would welcome the opportunity to represent you at this level.  It’s time for a change, so come with me.

Nominated by:  Steve Miguel    Seconded:  Bob Uittenbroek

Through my company I have supplied all the replacement globes for the floodlighting of the oval plus supplied all the new LED Batten’s throughout the clubrooms. I am very keen to continue as a board member. I still have a lot to offer and I am determined to see the East Fremantle Football Club back where they belong being a part of September action.
